Analytical engine

This engine came about due to the ‘crisis of industrialisation’. Babbage started making this engine n 1833. “This analytical engine was to be the world’s first general use programmable computer, a machine designed not just for solving one particular problem, but to carry out a range of calculations ordered by its operator”. (Google.com) It is believed that he had vaguely described the modern computer memory and processor. (Google.com)
However, due to lack of technology, it was impossible to build this engine.
The analytical engine was never built, however a modified version of the Difference machine was built by a Swedish printer, Pehr G Scheutz.
Babbage died a bitter man!
